Coach Tony Johnson brings 33 years of experience in education-based athletics to his current role as Assistant Head Coach at McKinney Boyd High School. His extensive Texas background includes serving as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Copperas Cove, alongside administrative and head coaching positions across Bonham, Maypearl, and Dallas ISDs, plus assistant coaching stints at Duncanville and South Grand Prairie. Beyond Texas high school sports, he previously served as a head coach for two high schools in Kansas.
At the collegiate level, Coach Johnson served as Head Coach at Bethany University and coached at TCU and Texas A&M–Kingsville, where his 2003 team was inducted into the Hall of Fame. A published author and national speaker, he balances his professional achievements with a vibrant family life alongside his wife, Mary, their four children, and two grandchildren.
